Pair a kitchen display with your store

Last updated on Aug 27, 2026

Pairing a kitchen display is two jobs: install the app on the screen, and give it the three codes from your back office.

Open the Kitchen Display dialog

On the Dashboard, select the Kitchen Display tile. There is also a KDS button at the top right of the Orders screen.

Both open a dialog headed Kitchen Display System (KDS).

If your store has no kitchen display set up, neither appears. If you select one and get "KDS is not configured for this store. Please contact support.", the store is not linked yet — ask us to set it up. There is also a Kitchen Display row in the Dashboard setup checklist with a Request access link.

Install the app

The Get the App! section at the top of the dialog carries store badges for Google Play, the App Store and the Microsoft Store. Install it on the tablet or PC that will be the display.

Show QR code for mobile download reveals a QR code you can scan from the device itself, which saves typing on a tablet.

Register the device

Under Setup Your Device the dialog says:

Open the app and select Manual Registration, then enter these codes:

Three rows follow, each with a Copy button:

  • Merchant Code
  • Location Code
  • Verification Code

Copy All Codes at the top right of that section takes all three at once, which is the easy way to email them to whoever is setting up on site.

Enter them in the app under Manual Registration.

Done

The app will connect to your store automatically once registration is verified.

If the dialog shows "Registration codes are not configured for this store. Please contact support." instead of the codes, stop and contact us — there is nothing to type.

Next: using the display

Day-to-day operation of the screen — reading tickets, bumping, recall, all-day counts — is covered in the Kitchen Display help centre. Start with Connect your POS to the kitchen display.

Give it a fixed address

If the screen is fed by a POS over your local network, set a static IP address or a DHCP reservation for it. The POS finds it by address, so a changed address silently stops orders arriving.
