Find your way around the merchant portal

The portal is one page with tabs across the top and a grid of shortcut tiles on the Dashboard. Both do the same thing — the tiles are simply larger. The tabs | Tab | What it opens | |---|---| | Dashboard | The tile grid and your setup checklist | | Orders | Live orders awaiting fulfilment, with a count badge | | Catering | Catering orders, if catering is switched on for your store | | Menu Builder | Menu items, groups, modifiers, promotion codes, trading hours | | Customers | Your customer list, plus Add Customer, Import and Export | | Reports | Sales Summary, order reports, transactions, invoices | | Customer Announcements | Push, SMS and email campaigns | | QR Codes | Table and promo QR codes | | Users | Staff logins | | Settings | Everything else | Customer Announcements, QR Codes, Users and Settings are not in the tab bar until you open them once — reach them from the Dashboard tiles the first time. The status bar Along the top of every screen: - Your store name and suburb, which returns you to the Dashboard. - A badge reading OPEN or CLOSED. Select it to reveal Open Store or Close Store — see Open or close your store for online orders. - The current date and time as the portal sees it. - Help, which offers Knowledgebase — this help centre — and Contact Support. - Logout. Why your portal may look different to another merchant's Most of the portal is switched on per store. Two things decide what you see. Your modules. Catering, delivery areas and slots, pickup locations, stock control, wholesale ordering, standing orders, customer import and export, QR codes, promotion codes, loyalty schemes, kiosk ordering and each printer type are all enabled per store. Where a module is off, the screen usually still exists and shows a note such as "The Customer Import module is not enabled on your account" with a contact us link. Whether you are an Admin. A user whose Admin setting is No never sees Settings, Users, Billing, POS Integration, printers, email and SMS settings, or the setup checklist. Those controls are removed from the page entirely rather than greyed out, so there is nothing to click. The Dashboard shows such a user a Change Password tile where an admin sees Users. The portal version is shown in the footer next to Merchant Portal V. Quote it when you contact support.

Work through the Complete your setup checklist

New stores get a Complete your setup card at the top of the Dashboard, with a green progress ring and a list of what is still outstanding. Each row has a Fix link that jumps straight to the screen that clears it. Get open Everything that stops customers ordering. - Add your store details — name, address, suburb and postcode, under Settings → About. - Add items to your menu — Menu Builder → Menu. - Set your trading hours — Menu Builder → Menu Settings. See Change your trading hours. - Publish your menu — your store is not yet live to customers. This row carries a Not live yet chip. See Publish your menu so customers can find you. - Set your delivery areas — shown only if your menu offers delivery. Get paid - Add your payout account — your bank details under Settings → Billing. Until they are in, the row carries a Payouts held chip. Look the part - Add your logo and Add a banner photo — Settings → Brand. - Show your product photos — the Display Images preference in Menu Builder → Menu Settings. - Add photos to your menu items. This group also shows a storefront preview — the same banner and logo a customer sees, with the caption "This is your storefront as customers see it." An image that fails to load there is the check failing; a missing banner shows as No banner photo. Reach your customers - Send email as your own business — see Send email from your own business address. If you have saved settings but never tested them, the row instead reads Finish setting up your email service, with the note "Your settings are saved but not switched on yet. Send a test email to activate them." - Add your website and socials — Settings → About. Ask us about - Kitchen Display System — this row has a Request access link that opens the support form rather than a settings screen. If you cannot see the card Two reasons, both normal: - You are not an Admin user. The checklist is built only for admins, because most of the fixes live behind admin-only settings tabs. - Your store is an established one. The card is currently shown only to newer stores. If you have been trading for years you will not see it, and nothing is wrong. Rows that are already done drop off the list, and a group with nothing left in it disappears entirely.

Publish your menu so customers can find you

Building a menu does not make your store visible to customers. Publishing does. Publish 1. Open Menu Builder. 2. Select Menu Settings in the left-hand list. 3. Select Publish Menu at the top right. You get a Menu published! notification and the button disappears — it is only shown while a menu is unpublished, so its absence means you are already live. Preview first View Menu, next to it, opens your store exactly as a customer sees it, in a new tab. Check it before you publish, and again afterwards. The setup checklist Until you publish, the Complete your setup card on the Dashboard shows Publish your menu with a Not live yet chip. Publishing clears it. That item depends on two others being done first — Add your store details and Add items to your menu — so clear those before reaching for the button. After publishing Being published is not the same as being open. Customers still cannot order unless: - The badge at the top of the portal says OPEN, or your trading hours have opened you automatically. See Open or close your store for online orders. - Today is ticked in the Trading Hours grid. See Change your trading hours. If the button is not there Two reasons: the menu is already published, or you are a non-admin at a store where only admins may change the menu — in which case the New and Save buttons are missing throughout Menu Builder too. Two menus If you run both a Preorder Menu and a Catering Menu, each publishes separately. Switch between them with the buttons at the top right of Menu Builder.
